12:13pm: The sickness
Hello,
I have spoken to my friend who has mono. She said she should be back at church by the end of October or the beginning of November. Right now she is on bed rest and is doing fine. I am so happy she is okay.

The Side Art of Blogging ~ Commenting

In my previouse post titled Blogging is an Art I told you I would write another post about the side art of blogging. As for the last post, I could go on forever, but right now lets talk about the side art, which is as I said, commenting.

The art of Blogging is not only learning to write good posts, but also learning to write great comments, and if you are a really accomplished blogger you will know how to use the HTML to make awesome templates and neat stuff like that, but for now we are talking about the comments.

One of the most importent things is responding to comments. I can not brag of being good at it, but here we go.

It is just proper etiquette to respond when someone says something to you.

The same with comments. Someone is saying something to you. You should let them know your listening.

An easy way to remember to respond to a comment is to go to your last post, and answer all the comments there. This is the method I have been using, however, it dosen't seem to work, but maybe it will for you.

Another way is if you get the e-mails notifing you that you have a comment, save them to remind you to respond. This is the method my sister Eyebright uses. It seems to work.

Now that you know to respond, it's time to learn how to write a comment.

One like the following will not do.

yo that was so like cool.

you shold check out my blog it is awsome lol lol

First of all, you should use no slang like yo. I personally think when people use the word yo it is rude, and disrespectful. Act civilized when writing a comment, that is what will draw people to your blog.

A good comment would contain more about what had been posted about, and more about the person that you are commenting to. Remember that the comment is not about you, and your blog, but about them, and their post.

Here are a few things I look for in a good comment.

Spelling is just like it would be in a post. Try to make the comment so that it is readable.

Don't feal bad about leaving a long comment. Just so it's not several web pages long, I enjoy long comments, and I think other people do, too. This dosen't mean you have to leave long comments all the time, short and sweet is nice too, but if you have something to say, don't feel bad about saying it.

If you are a Christian, act like one. The way you comment is a big way for other bloggers to decide if you are someone they would like to have on their friends list.

If the post you are commenting on is a big "thinker" post, let the writer know what you think, even if you don't agree with them, just put it in a nice way.

Last, but not least, remember that you could be making someone's day, who was wondering why she still has no comments on the post she thought was great!

A great post to read about commenting, and blogging is on totustuus's blog, please stop and read it.

Please think about this the next time you leave a comment.

Thank you all for reading, and please, leave a comment!

Blogging is an Art

If you think about it, blogging is an art.

A blogger will look for ways to get his/her readers to leave comments, or for a way to get friends. They do this by trying to write what they think their readers will enjoy reading.

I am also into the art if blogging, I try to improve my blog, I try to write what I think you would like to read.

In this way a painter paints, each time he paints he tries to find the exact picture that will sell well, he paints for his customers, what they will want.

Now, I not only write on my blog, but I read many blogs as well. I can't say to much on what your reader will want to read, but I know they don't want to read a post like the following either. I am Not Trying to Point ANYONE Out!

hi guies like whats hapen in youur life!!!! i hav not don anythg fun for like year's!!!!!

lol lol lol rofl rofl rofl

so leave me a comnt okay PLESE comnt!! PLESE PLESE PLESE!!!!

This is not a blogging artist!

I feel like commenting on these types of posts and saying, Wow you finally found the shift key, and figured out how to capitalize something near the end of your post there!

On a side note, I can't stand it how people write lol, or rofl. I think it is okay once, or twice, but more then that is just to much.
My sister Eyebright and I got to talking about it one time, and I said, it sounds like the people who say that, laugh like that.
For example you walk up to some one and tell them a joke, when your done they burst out shouting LOL, LOL, with no feeling at all. Now if the joke was really funny they would lay down on the floor, and once again with no feeling say ROFL, ROFL!
Dosen't that sound silly?

Back to the main point. I'm not a blogger like Jocelyn who gets tons of comments, but I do know how to write.

Notice in the example post I gave you how many words were misspelled.
I can't say I am the greatest at spelling, in fact, you might have found a misspelled word, or two in a comment I left, but I try to get someone to check my post before it goes public.

Please remember that I was not trying to point anyone out by this post, and for those of you who do blog as the (a little bit exagerated) post above, this post (I hope) was just trying to push you in the right direction.

I hope to do a post about the side art of blogging soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello,
I found this post on the blog of BlueJane. I really enjoy reading her post. She is really mature when it comes to her writing and takes deep thought on what she posts. I hope any of you who visits my blog would take time to go see hers also. I will be posting Bluejane's continued post on this subject on my blog to.
1:57pm: Nothing Exciting
Hey,
Nothing exciting happened this week. I just went to visit the kaishi website and registered to recieve a free snack. You should check it out.   http://www.kashi.com/outreach/snack_drive
I am kinda sad because my best friend is very sick. Our sunday school teacher says she has mono. It can come from mouth contact with other people. Doctors call it the "kissing disease". I am really hoping she gets better.
8:04pm: MY PET
7:29pm: Oh No!
 Oh No,
It can't be one of my best friends at church told me she was moving. She will be leaving at the end of October. Her dad was our churches choir director and music pastor. Her dad got an offer to transfer to another chuch so she has to leave. What makes it even worst is that she just moved into the basement so now I get to see her more often. She said even though she is moving she will still come back to visit. Hopefully we will still keep in touch.
  IN REMEMBERANCE OF MY BEST FRIEND
                            OLIVIA!
7:22pm: Wednesday night service.
       Last month I started going to wednesday night service. This is kinda like a biblestudy/worship/fellowship time for the youth group (teens). I have liked it so far. Six of my friends go also. Three go on a regular basis and the other three come every once in a while. About two or three weeks ago my youth pastor annoucned that he was going to start a little game of "room raiders". lol! Boy was I nervous. I started thinking about wether I had anything to hide. Nothing came to mind. He said he would come when we were gone and record everything that goes on. At first I thought he was kiding. My pastor is kinda a jokey person. But he said he was serious. I'm not exactly sure when he is going to start doing it, but I'm sure it will be fun.
7:21pm: Time does fly doesn't it?
1:27pm: School Week *sigh*
Yes,
Everyone has officially started school. I am homeschooled so I started on Aug, 20th and the public school students started on the 23rd. School was okay. Nothing really complicated. I had a really hard time waking up on the first day. I was so used to going to bed late and waking up late, that I had a hard time focusing when I first awoke. This year my brother and I are able to work on activites together although I am in eighth grade and he is in second. We get the same worksheets execpt my sheet is a little more advanced than his. I can't wait for next week to begin.
12:42pm: Exciting News!
Good Evening To All,
Well I'm back and guess what, I have exciting news to tell you. Well last Tuesday my Uncle and his girlfriend and my baby cousin came to stay with us. My Uncle says they are planning on moving here. I am really excited! They were staying in a different state so I didn't get to see them that often. Maybe once a year. So I am glad they are moving down here.
5:35pm: so much to catch up on
hey,hey,hey,hey,hey,hey,hey
            Been gone so long haven't I. Hope you missed me. Well last month around the third week of July my mom taught me how to crochet
. So far I have made a coaster  and I'm currently working on a burgandy pink and white blanket. I didn't realize making a blanket would take so long. I should have started off with something easier and less time consuming.
           Earlier this year I took a class to learn the basics of knitting. Because I was invovled in an activity at church I was not able to make all of the three class sessions. So I only learned how to do the slip knot, cast off, cast on and do basic knitting. I want to try to teach my self how to purl and do ribbing and etc. I have been to a couple of websites and have the discovered the many oppurtunites I will have to make a lot of things such as clothes, purses, belts, etc. Only when I have learned everything about knitting and crocheting.
             Also last month on the 21st we celebrated my younger brother's 7th birthday. It was great. It's kinda exciting to watch every year how your younger siblings can grow up so quickly. On his birthday my mom made him a dinner of his choice which was a homemade pizza and she made a chocolate cake from scratch.
              At my chuch we have sunday school classes for all ages. Every year elementary, middle, and high school move up to thier new grade level classes. This year I will be attending the eighth grade class. Every year the rising seventh graders need a welcoming as they transition from being with the elementary kids to being with the teens ( middle, highschool, and some college). So our youth pastor plans a trip for the rising seventh graders and all the teens. This year they are going to the beach. Also this trip will be counted as a service project, so before they enjoy their time on the beach they will be doing a job in a church. Unfortunately I won't be attending this trip because my mom is scared I could drown in the water at the beach or anything can happen to me. If she was able to go she most likey would have let me go but she's not going so I can't.
        Right now I am currently reading a book called  In His Steps by Charles Spurgeon. It is talking about these people who made a vow, at church to always ask themselves the question "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO"? before they made decisions or did anything. If I went around living my life everyday asking myself that question my life would be difficult. I think it's easier for a christain adult to succeed in this process then a child. Most children day to day deal with a lot of peer pressure and if your not strongly planted in your word, and really serious and focused on Christianity, and can go through life not caring what people think about you will succeed. Anyone who has made a decision to live thier life by this standard I give them a Good Job. Actually they deserve more then a good job but right now I can't think of a better praise. Eventually I will like to reach a point in my life where I can ask my the hardest question in life and make the right decision. Right now I am not at the point because I care a lot about what other people think about how I look, or what I do, things like that. I have to go eat now and I'm kinda tired of writing. I think I have gave you a pretty good summary of what has been going on in my life. Can't wait until something exciting happens so I can write about it. Talk to you soon.
8:31pm: IM BACK!
Hello,
I haven't been writing lately but now I'm back. I invited one of my friends to livejournal but she is having a hard time figuring out how to work it. So now she thinks this website is lame. Only little less than five weeks until school starts back up for me. Last year school was okay, but since it was our first year of homeschooling it was a little unorganized. So this year I am hoping for the best. My mom has planned it out a little better. Now that she has a better understanding of how homeschooling works. Last week I went to my first drive in movie theater. I guess that is what you call it. It started as soon as it was dark enough to see the screen clearly. It started at nine o'clock. We saw two movies for the price of one. We saw Ratatouille
? And Fantastic Four 2. I kinda fell asleep during the second movie but I forced myself to stay awake. The movies weren't over until about 12 something and we didn't get home until 1 something in the morning. It was a fun experience although there was a lot of mosquitoes. I would love to go again.
5:54pm:
Hello!
I'm back. Hopefully you missed me. I am positive you did. Anyways one of my friends has started a livejournal page. Yippee! I am trying to get my other friends on here today. I did some basic knitting today and I enjoyed a little reading. Currently I am reading a book called Messenger by Lois Lowry. It is okay. I like her as an author. I also like Avi, and Stephanie Perry Moore. So far I have read Crispin by Avi. A complete series by Stephanie Perry Moore. Also I have read The Giver by Lois Lowry once in fourth grade and again this year. I also read Number the Stars by her. Those are her two best books I think. I am going to continue reading Messenger and then I am going to read Gathering Blue and Silent by Lois Lowry.
         I just got finished eating a little while ago. I had Italian ziti bake, which is pene noodles, ground beef, tomato sauce and tomato paste with cheese all baked together. Yesterday I watched my favorite show....... Traveler. It is about this guy name Will Traveler (he made a fake idenity) Jay Virgil, and a some rich guys son. I can't remember his name. Anyways Will frames them with this bombing of this musuem and the rich guys dad helps with the framing. Only because he feels his son is weak and can't lead the family. I can't really explain everything you would have to watch it for yourself. It comes on ABC at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights. You can watch it from the beginning at ABC's website.
Well that's all for today ttyl.
5:35pm: My First Day Of LiveJournal
Today is  wednesday the 27th of june. I just started livejournal today. It took a while to figure out. Summer is almost over. Sad huh? Nothing really special happened today. Just my regular ole life.
But don't think because nothing happened today that I am a boring person. If you do you are decieving yourself. I am silly, wild, fun, hilarious, and just a fun person anyone can get along with. I created this blog for me and my friends. Hopefully I will stick with it. I had another blog on freewebs but I didn't stick with it. I am making a vow that I will stick with this for at least four months. My quizzing team went to Frankies today.
I know on Sunday my friends are going to be telling me about it. Especially one of bff Amy. She is a type of person everyone can get along with. Except it is kinda annoying when she always corrects certain things I say. Well I ran out of things to talk about so bye.
